As far back as I can remember probably to about the age of 10, and I am now 53, I have lived with digestive and bowel problems which alienated me from everything social. It caused me to be very selective about the kind of work I did and seldom to almost never going away on holiday. Going out for dinner caused me so much anxiety that it was easier to simply not go. Relationships were strained as I kept this problem entirely to myself. About two years ago I was approached by Wendy, she was promoting Yacon syrup. I listened to what she had to say as I had tried everything from pills, diets, endless doctors etc etc. Spent a fortune. Some days hardly eating and if I did only at home. While others mapped out restaurants and fun places to go I mapped out toilet stops ! So I thought what the heck and I bought a jar. I had one teaspoon before my lunch that day and waited for the usual stomach cramps, nausea and diarrhea. Incredibly none of this happened. Next day I had a teaspoon before my breakfast and this enabled me to eat three meals that day without any of those nagging feelings I'd had every day for years. My general health has improved, as did my skin and hair. I thought I might put on weight but I didn't. Who would have thought that this little inexpensive pot of gold could make such a significant change to my life. This photo shows me down in Dunedin last month where I flew from Hamilton to go to a show put on by my brother. Incredibly I was away for four days (Yacon in my bag of course ) my first enjoyable holiday for as long as I can remember. I have gained confidence and am making all kinds of plans. Thank you. I love my Yacon plants. They are easy to grow and we all enjoy the juicy tubers. Thanks for introducing us to such an interesting plant. Marie, S
